Pumpkin Pop Up

It may be a bit early for Manitoba, but I spent the afternoon of May 12th seeding the pumpkin patch, with help from Igor of course. We had still been having quite low temperatures at night, but by the time the seeds sprouted it should be fine.

Well today the first one bopped up out of the ground. Of course it's one of my "mystery" seeds, one of two packs of saved seeds that were neglected to be labelled. It looks like we'll see soon enough what they really are. I planted about the same amount of hills as last year, but spaced them much further apart to prevent the over-crowding like last year. Besides, I don't need THAT many pumpkins...or do I?
